2006 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) Contenders
$2 million, 3yo&up, f&m, 1 3/8 miles (turf)

The great UK mare Ouija Board, second in last year's Filly & Mare Turf after winning in 2004, should be difficult to handle this time around.  She is coming off an outstanding effort against males in the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown losing by a neck to Irish Derby winner Dylan Thomas.  Her biggest competition could come from Wait a While which can lay just off the pace and run down the leaders in the drive.  Wait a While is exiting four straight open length wins in two Grade 1s, a Grade 2 and a Grade 3 and is at the top of her game.  Film Maker and Honey Ryder are the best of the other Americans and could surprise with a return to their top effort.  My Typhoon is two for two on the Churchill Downs turf but at a much shorter distance.  The European-based horses are always a threat, especially French-bred Satwa Queen which has displayed outstanding form in her last two starts and is ranked within four pounds of Ouija Board by The Racing Post.
