2006 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) Contenders
$2 million, 2yo, f, 1 1/16 miles (dirt)

This is a relatively weak field of juvenile fillies which accounts for the large number of pre-entries.  The morning line second favorite is Dreaming of Anna which has the best last race PF coming in.  She is undefeated, winning all three starts by wide margins, although she has raced only once on dirt.  Possibly working against her is a front-running racing style shared with at least several potential starters.  The others with competitive PFs include Appealing Zophie, a front runner who faltered in her first attempt at two turns, pre-race favorite Cash Included, successful at the distance by open lengths in a Grade 1 prep race, and Octave, a mid-pack closer yet to race beyond a sprint distance but bred to stay.  Octave is one of only two fillies in the field of pre-entries with a win over the Churchill Downs surface.  The other, Cohiba Miss, is the most experienced contender along with Euro invader Satalugi, but neither matches the class of the leaders at this stage.  Since there are no truly dominant fillies, a big upset is a possibility.
